Our Super Hero Dad!

Everyone thinks that their dad or husband is the best, but Taylor was already awarded husband/father of the year on the first of January. He truly is our superman and our hero. We sure love him. The girls and I surprised him with a weekend getaway at the Zermatt Resort in Midway. It wasn't easy keeping the surprise, but we pulled it off and it was a blast. It was just what our little family needed. A weekend away and to ourselves. We swam, fed the goats several times, road the carousel, went mini golfing, played at a local park and ate some yummy food from a local hole in the wall place. Every weekend the Homestead Resort, which is the Zarmatt's sister resort and right across the road has a concert in the lawn. Father's Day weekend was the amazing and talented David Tolk who we both just love and who is a favorite of Taylors. It was so perfect. Sunday the girls wore "My dad is super shirts" and spoiled their daddy with gifts, candy and a video of pictures of them with there super hero dad!

Harps,
It is an understatement to say we are so in love with you. You are such a happy, content, easy going baby. You are so smiley and starting to really laugh out loud a lot more. You are a great sleeper. You have consitently been sleeping 10-12 hours without waking through the night. You are usually only awake 1-2 hours at a time throughout the day before taking a nap and sleep about 40 minutes- 1 hour at a time. We put you down awake and you rarely fuss and always get yourself asleep. You are much more alert. You always follow us around the room with your eyes. Grabbing and putting toys in your mouth is your favorite thing to do. You spend less time in the swing and enjoy playing in the exersaucer or rolling back and forth on the floor. You are so sweet. This past month we have removed the newborn hammock from the baby bath and you have started to splash. You are so loved. We adore you. You are perfect for our family.

The other day we went to visit Jeanne and on the way we were explaining to Sage that Grandma has an ouchie on her foot and that it was a little hurt, but that it would get better because she went to the doctor. "My Dr. Carter?" She knows her doctor by name! Between her 2 year check and Harpers few appointments she loves "her Dr.Carter." She thought we were going to Paradise so we told her we were going to Grandma's house by the temple and she said, "Temple. Jesus happy. Jesus Grandma foot all better." She loves hearing the story of Jesus healing the blind man. We had told it to her around Christmas time and she still remembers it and wants to hear it. She is so sensitive to anyone being hurt, which is ironic since her little feisty two year old self often causes others to get hurt. Every time we have a play date she goes through the list and says, "No hitting. no pushing. no scratching." Let's knock on wood, but the last few play dates we've had have been better... She is a sweetheart.

Sage's Ipad

"My ipad go?! Hiding. I find it!"She runs off yelling, "ipad are you?" She is known to steal the ipad out of the bathroom if we are in the shower and have music playing... The other day Taylor got out of the shower and asked where his music went and there was Sage sitting on our bed watching her show on Netflix...

May in photos

I take so many pictures on the phone that are just "every day" moments that I want to remember, but then am not quite sure what to do with them... so I figured the best way to remember them is to just make collages out of them and then I can upload them into our family digital scrapbook...  I am finding it harder to find time to sit down and blog, but it is still important to me. Instead of napping with my girls like I have been doing on the few occasions they both sleep at the same time like today... I decided I better make time to get caught up. Both there books are up to date... our family one is behind. Kind of a lot behind. Like non existent this year... I'll need to get caught up soon before it becomes too overwhelming. These collages will make it super easy. Nothing fancy, but at least I have them together... I treasure these small "insignificant" moments... I live for them!

My cheerleader

Bedtime is so difficult on my own since Taylor works until 8:30pm. By bedtime we are all tired and cranky. Last night Sage was crying about everything and I was getting frustrated. Cuddling and loving her did not help so I decided to just ignore her and get done what I needed to get done. I was cleaning up the kitchen and trying to put our George Foreman Grill away that fits in a top cabinet like a puzzle. It has to be put in just the right way in order to fit... I was struggling to get it in and jumped up on the counter to do it. Once I got it in with a little fight and jumped down I turned around to see Sage jumping up and down and clapping her hands cheering. She said, "Yay! Mom! Yay! Hard! Yay! Climb! Hard! Yay!" I couldn't help but be in a better mood. She sure is frustrating at times, but she is my greatest cheerleader.
