Our little lady is feeling better. She is almost back to her normal self. She loves her amoxicillan. She gets so excited as soon as she sees the bottle. However, she has a new bottle of medicine that she has to look forward to twice a day for who knows how long, except this medicine does not taste so good. Last week we met with the pediatric gastroenterologist (GI), who sent a referral for Sage to have an upper GI barium swallow study. Our girl has quite significant reflux, which is not a huge surprise to us. She has always been a huge spitter upper but because she was gaining weight and did not seem to be in any pain, her doctor would not prescribe any medicine. However, the past few months she has not been spitting up, but has not been eating much solid food. She gags when she does; sometimes even throwing up, or pushes the food away refusing to eat. Her doctor sent a referral to see the GI. The GI also sent a referral for her to see a speech therapist for a feeding eval to see if there is a problem with her swallowing. We are hoping this medication she has just started will be the answer and we can forgo the feeding eval at the end of the month. Here are a few pictures taken recently from my phone. She is so funny. Today in the store several people stopped to talk to her because she kept waving to them, giving them huge smiles and playing peek-a-boo with them. One lady commented on what a sweet face and fun personality she has and said she needs to be on TV. She definitely keeps us entertained around here!
