Harper Lee at 10 months!

• loves graham crackers and apples
• has 5 teeth- 3 on top and 2 on bottom
• can stand by herself for a little bit
• is a total daddy's girl- she squeals and crawls to Taylor so fast when he gets home
• can climb up stairs
• walks along furniture
• she wants to walk so badly 
• screams and throws a little fit if something is taken away from her
• claps hands
• loves the bath. As soon as she hears the bath and shower water running she is right there! It is almost impossible to take a shower without her standing at the side of the tub, pulling the curtain open. 
• can drink from a straw.
• sleeps from about 6 pm- 6:30 am through the night
• drinks 4-5 bottles of 6 oz a day (about every 3 hours)
• plays peek-a-boo behind the curtains 
• is such a good baby
• loves her big sister

Harper Lee is 9 months!

Harper at 9 months...

• 17.97 lbs (33%) and 27.56 inches (49%) 
• thinks it is hilarious when you pretend sneeze
• is so ticklish, especially under her neck
• pulls herself up to stand whenever and wherever she can
• has two teeth on the bottom, one which has broke through but has not really come in yet and is getting another one on top!
• is the best sleeper. sleeps on her tummy most of the time.
• "talking" a lot. saying mamamama and dadadada. 
• is a speed crawler, shoe eating, wipe puller outer, crumb finding sweetheart 
• likes to splash in the bath
• has the best smile and laugh
• loves her sister even though she gets pushed around sometimes.
• loves yogurt melts and graham crackers
• does the downward dog, especially when she is tired.
• wants to touch and get into everything. 
• is usually a quiet observer, but has a sly & funny personality and although she often appears very serious she is so smiley and so funny
• is already a daddy's girl
• is wearing 6-12 months or 9 month clothing, size 3 diapers 

Harper girl is 8 months!

Harper Girl is 8 months old! This month you:

•  had 2 teeth break through on the bottom. 
• began really crawling on all fours and getting around fast
• learned how to splash in the bathtub 
• learned to sit up on your own (you are always sitting up when we go get you on of your bed)
• have started pulling yourself up to a standing position.
• continued to be an absolute angel.
• still slept through the night 12-13 hours. 
• have started having a consistent nap schedule. You always take a short nap in the morning about an hour and half after waking up, a long 2 hour nap around 1 and a short nap around 4:30. 
• discovered you love yogurt melts and sucking on graham crackers. You are still not a fan of other foods; you will only take a few bites and then are usually done. 
• have shown sympathy for your sister. Anytime Sage gets a time out you go crawling fast to her room, get up on your knees and bang on her door. 
• have started to frustrate your sister as you get into all her things.
• continue to suck on your bottom lip when you are hungry 
• started shaking your arms up and down when you get excited.
• have been as smiley as ever.

This month we have fallen more and more in love with you. 

6 months

Harper Lee,

 You are such a joy! Everywhere we go people always comment on how easy going and peaceful you are. I have said this before and I am sure will say it many times over the years, but you are perfect for our family. You are the calm and content we need. This past month has been a big one for you with lots of new milestones.

5 months

Harper, 

You are the happiest and most easy going baby! You bring so much peace into our crazy days. You sleep between 12-14 hours a night and always wake up with a huge smile on your face. Naps are hit or miss, but regardless you are always so happy. You are becoming quite talkative and lot to chat. You also have discovered a love for pulling hair. Sometimes your sister gets a little too close and you yank on her hair. She doesn't love that. You put just about everything in your mouth. There have been a few days we have thought you may be teething because you have had a little fever and were a little bit fussy, which is just not you. We have fed you oatmeal and sweet potato, which you are not a fan of either yet. You are very ticklish and even Sage can get you laughing as she rubs her nose on your belly.  You have the best laugh. You also seem to really enjoy tummy time. You always seem to be poopy and  have frequent blow outs. It has kind of become a joke. Every time we go anywhere and we go to get you out of the car we expect to change you. You are wearing size 3-6 months clothing and we just bumped you up to size 3 diapers. We figure you weigh about 15 lbs. You are so very loved. We love you and are so blessed to have you!

4 months

Harps, 

It is an understatement to say we are so in love with you. You are such a happy, content, easy going baby. You are so smiley and starting to really laugh out loud a lot more. You are a great sleeper. You have consitently been sleeping 10-12 hours without waking through the night. You are usually only awake 1-2 hours at a time throughout the day before taking a nap and sleep about 40 minutes- 1 hour at a time. We put you down awake and you rarely fuss and always get yourself asleep. You are much more alert. You always follow us around the room with your eyes. Grabbing and putting toys in your mouth is your favorite thing to do. You spend less time in the swing and enjoy playing in the exersaucer or rolling back and forth on the floor. You are so sweet. This past month we have removed the newborn hammock from the baby bath and you have started to splash. You are so loved. We adore you. You are perfect for our family. 

Happy 3 months Harper!

Harper girl, Harper Bug, Harper Lee

3 months! This past month you have become quite smiley. You make us so happy. You are much more awake and are becoming more aware of your surroundings which is making it more difficult for you to sleep with a screaming sister who is jumping all around or getting in and out of the car. You still sleep in mommy and daddy's room, although we are planning on making the switch from our room to yours this next week after your Grandpa Davey's visit. You are a great night sleeper, but we would all sleep better in our own beds. Mom wakes up every time you move and thinks you need to eat when in reality you just finished eating... You always start the night in your bassinet though. The last few nights you haven't woke up and joined our bed until the early morning of 5:30ish... You have been wearing 3 month clothes for a few weeks now. You still love to nurse, but have been taking the bottle a little more. We go on lots of walks these days, which you usually sleep right through. On occasion you're awake and get to feel the wind on your face and the warmth of the sun. You are also a little chatter box.  You have a lot to say. At your 2 month appointment that you did not have until about 2 and half months, so just a couple weeks ago... you weighed 11 lbs 11.5 oz and were 23 inches. 56% for weight and height. We also got your ears pierced this past month. You also went with mom to California and got to meet lots of family and friends. You were an angel on the plane, which is no surprise. You are our angel. You are the calm our family needs. You are perfect for us. We love you.

2 months

2 months?! Once again time has flown by as I am sure we will say every month that passes. It seems like forever away, but I am sure we will look back years from now when you have a family of your own and say the same thing and wonder where the time has gone. You are such a good baby. You never cry unless you are hungry (or in the car if your headband has fallen down over your eyes!) and you love to snuggle. Your calmness is just what our little family needed. You have started to smile and coo. And as you can tell you have really filled out. You won't have your 2 month check for a couple weeks because mom thought she had plenty of time to schedule it after your 2 week check, but 2 months sure has crept up on us! You are still really sleepy, but have started to be awake a little more the past week. When you are awake you are happy sitting under your jungle gym and looking around. You are most alert/awake between 8-11 pm. You love warm baths. You love to nurse and usually fight the bottle until hunger wins. You are so beautiful and we love everything about you!

1 month

Can you really be one month already? I think it has been the fastest month in history. We are so blessed to have you in our family. You are perfect for us.  It has been an adjustment for us all, but not because you are difficult in any way. You are such a good baby and so easy going. We had a few hiccups the first couple weeks with your umbilical cord not drying out and with nursing, but we have things figured out now and you have the cutest belly button and are gaining weight like a champ! You gained 6 oz in just 2 days. At your 2 week appointment you surpassed your birth weight by almost a pound weighing in at 8 lbs 1 oz. You look more and more like your daddy. You like to be swaddled and love to be snuggled. You love to burry your face in mommy's neck. You love to nurse and only tolerate the bottle which we give you a couple times a day. You are still super sleepy, but when you are awake you are very alert and make the best facial expressions. I am convinced you could sleep through a rock concert with how loud your sister is. Speaking of her, Sage bit your toe. She was looking at it and saying "tiny.cute." and next thing I knew your toe was in her mouth and you were crying. You also mysteriously got a little scratch under your eye. Your sister cannot keep her hands off you, but she sure does love you. She always wants to "see Harper" and "me hold her Harper". We love you Harper Lee and don't know what we did without you!
