Ready for Valentine's

We put Valentine's up soon after Christmas came down this year... We had such a wonderful Christmas season that I was really sad to see it end. January is a kind of a blah month for me. There isn't really anything to celebrate and it usually keeps us indoors a lot more with the colder weather, so we look to Valentine's Day with some anticipation! And then a couple weeks later comes March and we love March in this house! Sage's birthday is on the second, mine is on the seventeenth and Taylor's is on the twenty-fourth.

Look at mama!

Our little bug is getting more and more difficult to photograph.  Although it is difficult to get her to look at the camera and sit still, I love capturing her fun personailty.

Project Life Pics

19. One of my neighbors Kelsey and I usually craft while our husbands play basketball. This was the weeks craft. White on white. We painted white letters and put them on the white canvas. I like how it turned out. Mine says, "ID MARRY YOU TODAY" because Taylor always asks me that... I think it is sweet. 20. Taylor and I made whole wheat apple oatmeal muffins. they turned out pretty good. 21. Saturday morning was spent cleaning together while Sage napped. 22. We spent Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday with Taylor's parents up in Paradise. We had a really good time. 23. Monday mornings I cut my coupons from Sundays paper and plan shopping trips. 24. We have to close all the doors. We leave Sage's bedroom door open for her to play. She usually takes all the books down from her bookshelf, but this time she helped herself to her bottom jammie drawer.

Never Grow Up

I feel so blessed that I can stay home with our Sage girl. I really enjoy watching her grow. She is always making me laugh. She is my little buddy. We have lots of fun together. However, sometimes I find myself wishing she could stay my little bug forever. Every night I take my chances and sneak into her room, just for a peek. Sage gives me just a little glimpse of the love our Heavenly Father must have for us. It's a wonderful feeling.

Shutterfly Book

One of my goals for the new year was to get our family book caught up... I wanted to turn our blog into books, which meant 2 years of catch up and it takes a lot of time. So, I decided to print a summary of our lives so far instead (so we can at least have something). I was going to start from our wedding through the end of 2011, but I had extra room in the book so I added a few pages of our dating/engagement. I forgot to change the date on the front cover-bummer, but other than that I am happy with how it turned out.

Where's your baby?

Sage absolutely loves this baby doll. It is the first toy she usually goes to and she gives it kisses and holds it up to her face and just loves it! We often ask her, "Where's your baby?" and she smiles her big cheesy smile and goes and gets it. It is so stinkin cute to watch.

Now this is what I call fun!

Playing with edible finger paint.

Blue Vase

Winning the Blue Vase is a reference to a leadership story called The Go-Getter: A Story That Tells You How To Be One by Peter Bernard Kyne. The Blue Vase is the first major milestone Farmers agents can achieve. It is also one of the most prestigious awards a Farmers Insurance Agent can obtain, as it symbolizes exceptional sales and service in the field of Life insurance. Taylor achieved this back in September.  He received a little bonus, a nice watch and was also presented with this award the other day. Go Taylor! Sage and I are his biggest fans!

Project Life- A Picture A Day

I have heard a lot about Project Life over the last little bit, but have never paid too much attention; which is ironic since I love keeping a record of our family history. Recording our history is my purpose in keeping this blog. Someday I will print the blog out into a book. Hopefully someday soon. I'm only a couple years behind! However, it is a resolution of mine to get caught up! Project Life has several ideas for keeping memories. One idea is A picture A Day: "Take a picture on each of the 365 days this year. Some pictures will illustrate bigger moments and some shots will be routine stuff in your life. It all adds up to paint the full picture of your life right now." Realistically I know I can't keep up and post a picture every day, but I will take one and try and post them once a week. So... here's our year so far!

1. Taylor & I stayed at the Anniversary in for our 2 year anniversary. We stayed in the themed room "Joanie's Diner" 2. Our Sage girl turned 10 months 3. I was found guilty for the speeding ticket I was trying to contest from back in Sept. $209 fine. 4. Playing with yogurt was the highlight of our day 5. Took Sage to the doctor and he sent a referral to have an feeding evaluation with a speech therapist to try and figure out why she chokes when she eats 6. Made homemade granola 7. Had a lot of fun playing with the letter puzzle all together 8. Been making lots of things on the Silhouette 9. Got some great deals at Target for next Winter 10. We made this frame and take turns writing on it- this was Taylor's message to me this morning. He's the sweetest.

At last!

Our little bug is crawling on her knees! It happened overnight! We were both surprised to see crawling on her knees yesterday morning. We haven't completely said goodbye to the cute swimming on land crawl yet. She likes to mix it up. She has even been doing this sit and spin herself to where she wants to go. She is too funny.

Milk

We have been working on signing with Sage for several months now. Probably not as consistently as we should. We are however consistent with a few signs, such as eat, milk, all done, and more. And these are the signs she is starting to mimic. We will be adding several more signs from here on out.

Playin in Yogurt

We spent our afternoon playing in yogurt. Who says you shouldn't play with your food? Sage had fun and I had lots of fun watching her. I may have even got my hands a little icky!

Sick Bug

Our little bug has been sick for the second time in her 10 month life. She got sick right after Halloween with a little stomach bug that only lasted a day, but this time she has been hit harder with a runny nose, cough, and a little fever on top of a little stomach bug. We took her to the doctor yesterday evening and we just have to let it run its course. She has also been tugging at her ear, which the doc said looked a little red, but not quite an ear infection yet. Hopefully it doesn't turn into one. In a couple days if it is still bothering her we can call the doctor and she said she would just call in an antibiotic. So, Sage and I have been hanging out at home. Neither of us even got dressed yesterday. It was a jammies day. This morning we at least changed into sweats.

Joanie's Diner

Taylor and I celebrated our second anniversary by spending a night in Logan at the Anniversary Inn. Jeanne and Tony took good care of our lil bug. We stayed in Joanie's Diner, which is a 50's theme. We ate lots of junk provided in the diner-hotdogs, banana splits and cheesecake as well as enjoyed much needed time alone together. We also danced a few songs from the jukebox. After checking out in the afternoon we ate a yummy lunch at Cafe Sabor. It was a wonderful way to celebrate. (Please look past the poor photo quality. Of course the camera was in Sage's diaper bag.)

10 months

Sage,

You got sick today on your 10 month mark. You have a cough, runny nose and watery eyes. You even threw up from coughing. I am typing this with one hand while you sleep in my arms. You will not let me put you down. I don’t mind cuddling you though.
  • If you weren't curious enough your curiosity has peaked.
  • You got your first dose of the flu shot.
  • You get into everything.
  • You love music.
  • Wave hi and goodbye. Although sometimes you tease and pretend like you don’t know how. You like to wait until dad has walked out the door for work before you wave bye to him.
  • You love crawling under tables.
  • Sit up from a laying position all by yourself.
  • Mom vacuums just about every day and you still managed to find the tiniest piece of nothing and put it in your mouth
  • 1 new tooth on top. Giving you a total of 4 on top 2 on bottom.  6 teeth!
  • Stood up on your own and even put teeth marks in your crib. We ordered you a crib guard, so you don’t destroy your it. We also lowered your crib down a level
  • You celebrated your first Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve morning with Grandma Jeanne and Grandpa Tony at home and Christmas Eve and Christmas with Grandpa and Papa.
  • You enjoyed looking all the Christmas lights. Every morning we would sit you in front of the tree, turn the lights on and clap.
  • Celebrated your first New Years by going to bed at 6 p.m
  • You love all your new toys you received from Christmas
  • You began to outgrow your 9 month clothes
  • You are wearing size 3 diapers.
  • You can pick up and eat finger food like a champ. You love bread.
  •  Started eating a lot better. You especially love turkey soup. For breakfast you usually eat cheerios, banana and yogurt. Lunch you eat sweet potato, pieces of bread and fruit, such as pieces of mandarin orange or peach. Dinner you usually eat some sort of chicken, rice or potato, carrot puree. You love food, but the past couple weeks every meal has ended (and lots of time with not much being eating- just a couple bites) with you gagging. We are calling Dr. Cannon tomorrow.
  • You spent your first night away from mommy and daddy while they celebrated their anniversary. You stayed with your Grandma Jeanne & Grandpa Tony. You of course were spoiled. Grandma cuddled with and slept with you all night and Grandpa let you taste your first twinkie.
We love you baby girl! We are always thanking Heavenly Father for sending you to our family and praying for you as well.

Love, Mommy & Daddy
