Our Little Miss Sunshine Turns 1!

Sage will be 1 years old on Friday! Can you believe it?! Her Aunt Lexi with Lexi Rae Photography took her 1 year old pictures! I was a little worried because Sage was hungry and signing for milk, trying to crawl away, sticking her tongue out and spitting and just not being the most cooperative, but they turned out perfect! We love our little lady and can't wait to celebrate her birthday with her on Friday and again on Saturday with her cousins.

Last night

Last night at dinner Taylor looked at Sage who was being just as cute as ever and said, "Is this what you get to do all day? You have the best job in the world!" I couldn't agree more! Last night Taylor and I were also able to attend the Jordan River Temple, while our sweet neighbors/friends Scott and Kelsey sat with Sage. We are apperciate their willingness to help us out and are grateful that she has such a good routine. She was in bed by 6, we were ready and out the door by 6:30 and in the temple by 7. She didn't make a peep for them, which lets us be able to go out and not worry  not worry too much, while we are away. The temple is always so peaceful. I couldn't help but contemplate my life and think about all the things I can and should be doing better, but it was not an overwhelming/depressing feeling, but an encouraging and uplifting feeling. A feeling that I can do this. I can be even better. I have so much potential as a daughter of God

So in love

We couldn't be any more in love with this little girl. As the three of us sat down to dinner tonight Taylor said, "people who do not want kids are missing out on the greatest things in life." It is so true. Sage bring so much joy into our lives. (Today we met up with Jodie and her girls and had Chik-fil-a for lunch and then went over to Wheeler Farm. It was a cold day with the wind and extra muddy with the recent snow, but it was nice to get out and get together. Afterwards Taylor took Sage home for a nap and Jodie and I took her girls with us to Smiths Marketplace where they had an additional 70% off their Clearance. Got lots of cute Carter's jammies for summer and next winter for our girl and tights for next winter. Saved $85. Love good deals! Taylor had taken the day off of work, but had several calls. 5 policies today without even going into the office! Sage and I think he should stay home and play with us every day! He came home early on Friday too. Made for a nice 3.5 day weekend! We love that man!)

Never a dull moment with our princess

My good little napper has a lot of energy. I have been trying to take Sage out a lot more, especially since the weather has been so nice. We have been going to the library several times a week, the aquarium, Wheeler Farm and our most popular outing to walk around Target. Today I  didn't feel like going out so we hung around the house and our little bug played in her crib for over an hour. I finally got her up to play and fed her some lunch thinking she would take an early afternoon nap. Taylor came home from work early and since our little bug was being a little monster and not napping again we decided to take her to the pool at the rec center. She loved the splash zone. She was so happy splashing around and watching all the kids. She kept waving and smiling to them. She is too cute. We are debating on getting memberships. They have several pools- indoor and outdoor, a kids splash zone, diving boards, fitness center with lots of fun classes and ice-skating. I think our little family would get a lot of use out of it. Taylor has had a ton of calls, so ran back to work to take care of a few things and is going to pick up a redbox on his way home. Our dinner is cooking and our little bug is napping. I usually never let her nap so late, but she is exhausted. I should probably wake her up soon, but right now... I am enjoying the quiet moment. There is never a dull moment with our little girl. She is always making us smile and laugh. The other day when I took her to the mall  a lady at Carter's was telling Sage how cute she was and Sage looked at her, stuck her tongue out and spit! Another man at a kiosk yelled out to Sage that she looked like a little queen sitting in her stroller with her pink sparkly shoes up on the tray and waving and smiling to everyone. She is our little princess, that's for sure!

Valentine's 2012

Last year for Valentine's Day we both worked all day. We were still living in Orem. Taylor was working at New Haven and I was working at UCDH. Taylor picked me up from work and took me to dinner at Ruby River and got me the prettiest red roses. All I really remember is being so uncomfortable and wanting to meet our little girl. Sage and I are pretty lucky to have Taylor as our Valentine. I don't mind sharing him with her! He treats us so good and spoils us a little too. He got us both a pair of Toms. Sage got sparkly pink ones and he got me the dark gray ones I have been wanting. Valentine's Eve he came home with Raspberry Lemon Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory for us to enjoy together. Valentine's morning we made strawberry banana crepes. For lunch Sage and I met Taylor and we went to visit Grandma Sargent. We enjoyed a nice visit and picked up Arby's for lunch, which Grandma really likes. Taylor had to go back to work afterwards, but came home early and redboxed a movie for us to watch. We had a nice evening at home together after putting Sage to bed and putting her to bed again after she woke up and threw up all over her crib and all over me and the floor when I picked her up. Her medicine seems to be working well and she is eating better, but something must have upset her little tummy. Not the best way to start our Valentine's evening, but we wouldn't trade her for the world!

Our Valentine

We sent this picture with Sage's Valentines to each of her grandparents and great-grandparents. She's our sweet lil Valentine. This time last year we were anxiously awaiting her arrival and I was secretly hoping she would come on Valentine's Day. Can you believe her birthday is in just a couple weeks?! We love our little love bug!

We have an artist in the family!

During the Newlywed game the husbands had to draw a picture of their wives and then the wives had to guess which picture their husband drew of them. It was so funny! Here is the picture Taylor drew of me. I never knew he was such an artist! Looks just like me, right? Haha

No pictures, but wanted to write about the past week. Sage and I stayed busy. We went to the library for a Gotta Move Class and for Wee Books another. We also went to the aquarium on another day. Sage is starting to baby sign for "fish".  She is seeming a lot older to me the past few days. I can't believe in just a few short weeks she will be turning 1 years old! Friday evening Taylor and I hosted an Ice-Cream Sundae/Newlywed Game Night at our place with 5 other couples. The Petersons, Averyts and three couples from church came. It was a lot of fun. We are grateful for our friendships. Saturday morning we headed up to Paradise for the weekend. We had a really nice time with our families. Taylor went to the Utah State Basketball game with his dad and then Grandma and Papa took us out to dinner. Tony and Jeanne came over and played games with us Saturday night and came over for dinner on Sunday. Papa made is secret/famous pasta sauce and it was delish! We came home Sunday night. It is always so hard to  leave. We are off to a good week so far. Taylor ended with 16 policies last week and got 5 policies yesterday. Work has been really busy. Last night for our Family Home Evening we talked about living in thanksgiving daily. We really are so blessed and have so much to be grateful for.

The latest with our entertainer

Our little lady is feeling better. She is almost back to her normal self. She loves her amoxicillan. She gets so excited as soon as she sees the bottle. However, she has a new bottle of medicine that she has to look forward to twice a day for who knows how long, except this medicine does not taste so good. Last week we met with the pediatric gastroenterologist (GI), who sent a referral for Sage to have an upper GI barium swallow study. Our girl has quite significant reflux, which is not a huge surprise to us. She has always been a huge spitter upper but because she was gaining weight and did not seem to be in any pain, her doctor would not prescribe any medicine. However, the past few months she has not been spitting up, but has not been eating much solid food. She gags when she does; sometimes even throwing up, or pushes the food away refusing to eat. Her doctor sent a referral to see the GI.  The GI also sent a referral for her to see a speech therapist for a feeding eval to see if there is a problem with her swallowing. We are hoping this medication she has just started will be the answer and we  can forgo the feeding eval at the end of the month. Here are a few  pictures taken recently from my phone. She is so funny. Today in the store several people stopped to talk to her because she kept waving to them, giving them huge smiles and playing peek-a-boo with them. One lady commented on what a sweet face and fun personality she has and said she needs to be on TV. She definitely keeps us entertained around here!

Ear Infection

You wouldn't know it by the first few pictures, but our little beauty is sick. It started with just a little runny nose, but by 6:00 last night she was so unhappy. She happened to have her appointment with the gastroenterologist scheduled for today and while we were there they checked her ears and sure enough she has an ear infection. Our poor baby. Let's hope she gets feeling better soon so we can all get some rest! But even without sleep and not feeling well she is still our pretty little lady!

Aquarium

This morning Sage and I met Lexi, Emmett and Presley and Jill, Lacie and Wyatt at the Aquarium. It was nice to get out of the house. Afterwards Jill and I went to lunch at Paradise Bakery. Sage is napping now and I am waiting for laundry to finish.
