Welcome life back to normal and Welcome home Elder Karren!!

(Pictures of greeting Michael at the airport, the Chalk Festival and Michael's homecoming- sorry they are not in order...)

I survived my 2 week Family Violence class! Well, just about. I have a few weeks to submit my research paper, which will become my Friday night activity while Taylor is working. It is because of him that I survived! He is so supportive. He drove up with me to class on Tuesday and Thursdays and had lunch for me to eat on the way up. Monday, Wednesday and Friday he couldn't drive up with me, but would meet me at work and have lunch for me. He is always helpful around the house, but he definetly did more than his share the past couple weeks. He also picked up a few extra shifts to help out since I was only able to work half of my normal hours. I am so grateful for him. I am back to my normal schedule now- Monday/Fridays at the preschool working 9-2, Tuesday-Thursday working at the Dental College working 7:30/8:00-5:00 and class Monday/Wednesday evenings up at the U from 7:30-9:00 pm. And just have 1 other online class. Taylor continues to work Monday/Wednesday/Fridays from 3 pm-11 pm, but there is a Monday/Wednesday/Friday morning shift opening up, which he is going to apply for if he can arrange his classes for Tuesday/Thursday mornings in the Fall. My fingers are crossed. I have gotten used to his schedule though and mind less having to be alone in the evenings, but it would be nice to have him home every evening. We'll see.

Michael (Taylor's cousin), or Elder Karren as I knew him, returned home from Spain last Tuesday, June 15th. It is so fun to have him home. Taylor and him had not seen each other for 4 years, so it was exciting to see them reunite! And it is super fun for me to get to know Elder Karren as Michael! We met him at the airport along with his family and Taylor's parents. Afterwards we had dinner at the Karren home. We kidnapped him on that Thursday. Taylor hung out with him after dropping me off for my class and then they both picked me up and we brought him with us back home and he spent the night with us. It was so much fun to see him and Taylor together and so fun for me to talk with him about Spain. The boys hung out Friday morning and then met me when I got off work, so I could bring Michael home on my way to class. Saturday he came with us to the Chalk Art Festival at the Gateway and Sunday was his homecoming. It was great to hear him speak in Church and hear more of his experiences. We are so happy he is home and excited for the adventures ahead!

A Busy Week...

It has been a busy week! I have a 2 week Family Violence class that is 4 credits. It is super interesting, but is also very time consuming. I have been waking up extra early so I can go into work earlier because I am only able to work a few hours in the morning because I have class all afternoon. My class is up at the U so I have had a lot of driving. Taylor has been kind enough to drive up with me on Tuesday and Thursday, which are the days he does not work. He is at work right now and he picked up a few extra shifts this next week, which will help us out a lot since I am only working half of my normal hours. While he is working I have been doing homework all evening. He is working tomorrow (Saturday) and I will be studying for the 3 tests I have this coming week. Lots of school and lots of work... We are both very grateful to be getting the education we are and are grateful for the jobs we have!

Too good to be true...

Talked to Grandma and Papa today. It does not look like they will be moving any time soon... Unfortunately the house we looked at with them, that they fell in love with does not include the barn. That in itself was a disappointment, but even more disappointing is the fact that the barn is on the property line and the owner is a contractor with 10 acres. Why in the world would he build his barn on the property line? Grandma and Papa are worried about dealing with him and the building that will take place... They said they knew it was too good to be true. It really was. We would love for them to move close... Our eyes are open for them!

Stewart Falls

Saturday we went on a 4 mile hike to Stewart Falls and back in the Provo Canyons. The Lord's creations are so beautiful and amazing!

We survived!

Wendesay morning about 3:00 am I woke up feeling so sick. I went back to bed and woke up a couple hours later throwing up. I will spare you all the details, but Taylor and I both called in sick and spent the day in bed. Well, in bed and the bathroom. It was the worst thing ever! I really thought I was going to die. Luckily Taylor did not get sick as soon as I did nor as bad, so he was able to go to the store and get some medicine, powerade, and popsicles. We both survived!
