Thing I want to remember...

about my chocolate chip muffin faced girl...

  • The other day I asked her to bring me her "Five Green and Speckled Frogs" book and she did. I asked her to bring me her "Kiss, Kiss" book and she did. I asked me to bring me her book about Jesus and she did- she brought me her Book of Mormon.
  • She signs for "help" all the time. She asks for help for things she does not need help with. Her baby doll was out of reach and so she signed for help. I tried to tell her to walk around and then she could reach her, but she just kept signing help so I took her hand and walked her around the table so she could reach and she signed help and got mad and threw her baby doll.
  • She reaches her arms out to complete strangers standing in line or walking by for them to hold her.
  • She loves to play with my measuring cups and measuring spoons. Taylor and I were making the chocolate chip, maple pancake muffins (which she clearly enjoyed) after putting her to bed and we had to search the entire house, bath tub and toy bins to find the measuring cups/spoons we needed.
  • She loves to get the tupperware and measuring spoons and stir.
  • She waves her hand over face when something is stinky or if we tell her she is a stinker.
  • gives real kisses now and not just a kissy sound into the air.
  • laughs when Taylor hugs me and then gets jealous and tries to get between us.

Aquarium and Sugarhouse Park

Sage and I spent a morning at the aquarium and went out to lunch together the other day. She is my best little buddy during the day while Taylor is at work. We have so much fun together. After her nap we went by and surprised Taylor and he decided he could use a break and joined us at Sugarhouse Park for a nice little walk and fun at the playground. Sage loves the swings. We love her sweet little laugh. She is unsure about walking in the grass, but boy can she run on the sidewalk. The weather has been so nice and it was a perfect afternoon to be outside and play together all three of us.

Gotta Move

We used to go all the time, but haven't gone for a while since the weather has been nice, but we went to the library for the Gotta Move class today. Sage did a little bit of dancing and clapping, but mostly people watching, finding other babies to hug and kiss (and other mommies too), running around and trying to steal other children's toys (as you'll see at the end).

Farm with the Bestie

We got these cute little duckings. They come attached and hugging and we separated them so they could each have one to take home.

We have had a busy and fun weekend. Friday afternoon Taylor took Sage on a date for ice-cream and to the park while I went to the gym. After putting her to bed Taylor and I went on our own date. We were going to go to a drive-in movie to see Mirror Mirror, but decided save that for another date. Instead we went to dinner at Paradise Bakery and then went ice-skating. We also drove around and looked at some homes and decided that there are some nice homes in the Salt Lake area. Since the night was still young we walked around and looked at books at Barns and Noble. On the way home we stopped by Target and walked around and had some good laughs. It was such a nice evening. I really did marry my best friend. Today we went to the temple for the sealing of Taylor's good friend Garett and his now bride Angie. I love going to sealings. We have been fortunate enough to attend two in the past couple weeks. It really puts life into perspective. Afterwards we went to a birthday party for one of our favorite little men, Cole. We all came home and took a little nap and then barbecued for dinner and watched an episode of The Biggest Loser. This evening Taylor has been reading and I have been working on our family journal/ photo book.

Thursday morning breakfast

Thursday morning we decided to make french toast and eggs outside on the griddle of the bbq. It was such a nice morning and nice to be able to spend that time together as a family. We brought Sage's highchair outside and we all enjoyed breakfast outside.

iphone pictures

Recent pictures from my phone. Most of these get posted on Facebook and/or instagram, but I want them here on the blog so I can be sure to include them into our family book when we print it out for family history purposes. Sometimes it's fun to just see the every day/uneventful things.

1. Happy Friday! This girl usually wakes up so happy. Sometimes Taylor and I race and try and get to her before the other, but usually go in there together so we can both be greeted by the crazy hair and sweet smile. 2. typical. Sage loves getting into her drawers and pulling everything out.  3. We did some planting. I'll have to take some pictures of our balcony. We planted flowers as well as herbs. 4. Bath time is the best for more reasons than one. Some days it's because it means bed time is almost near and other days it's because she has been asking to take a bath all day and it is relaxing for the both of us. She loves days that her daddy is home from work and can bathe her. 5. Excited for her friend Cole to stay with us for a few days. 6. City Creek. Love it. 7. Target. Graham crackers in hand. They were two happy campers. 8. Pudding face. 9. We went to one of Taylor's mission companions/friend's temple sealing. 10. beautiful flows outside the temple. 11. The bed from Pottery Barn that I am in love with for our boy some day. (Assuming we will have a boy) Grandpa can make this, right? 12. Me and my girl! 13. All ready to head to church! We showed up a little late because Sage was napping. 14. We have gone through box after box of oranges. mmmmm 15. chicken-ka-bobs with peppers and quinoa salad. 16. she insists on pulling out her hair bows these days. 17. The most delicious herb chicken (with herbs from our garden) and squash, zucchini and peppers served over brown rice. 18. is your mouth watering? 19. love this face. 20. swinging at her cousins house for Emmett's birthday last weekend.
